Elevate your smile with composite veneers

Also referred to as dental veneers or porcelain veneers, composite veneers straighten, brighten, and create symmetry in your smile, with individually crafted, ultra-thin layers of porcelain.

Custom-made by our skilled technicians to exacting standards, the veneers perfectly mimic the natural finish and appearance of your teeth, leaving you with a smile to be proud of.

Your Feel Good Dental dentist can use veneers to improve the colour, shape, and positioning of a single tooth, masking discolouration or unsightly chipping. Veneers can also be bonded to multiple teeth, to rejuvenate your appearance with flawlessly flattering results.Book your free consultation for composite veneers at Feel Good Dental.

The composite veneers process

step one: initial consultation

Your dentist will carry out a comprehensive dental examination to address any issues you may have with your teeth and assess your suitability for dental veneers. We’ll work with you to identify your ultimate smile goals and develop a bespoke treatment plan to achieve them.  Once you’re happy to proceed, your dentist will explain the procedure involved in the porcelain veneer treatment, and answer any questions you have.

step two: Planning and preparation

To prepare your tooth or teeth to receive a veneer, a very thin layer of the outer enamel of your tooth is removed, making space for the finished veneer to bond to the surface of your tooth. Once your tooth is prepared, we’ll take impressions of them, sending them to our dental lab where each veneer is individually and expertly hand-crafted. Your dentist may create and fit a temporary veneer, to protect the prepared tooth until your permanent veneers are ready.

step three: Fitting your veneers

After removing any temporary veneers and cleaning your teeth in preparation for placement, your dentist will carefully bond the veneers to your tooth using a permanent dental cement, which is hardened under a bright light. They will carry out a final examination of the shape and colour of your veneers, and test your new bite, to make sure that you are happy with your new smile.

FAQs about Dental Veneers

How long do dental veneers last?

Porcelain veneers are designed to be a robust and long-lasting cosmetic dental solution. When cared for properly, with good daily oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups they can last for as long as 15 to 20 years.

Can dental veneers break?

Although veneers are designed to be hard wearing, just like your natural tooth they can be damaged through accident or impact injury. If you take part in contact sports, we recommend wearing a sports guard to protect your veneers and all of your teeth. If your veneer does break, contact our Croydon practice for an appointment with your dentist, rather than waiting for your next routine appointment.

How do I care for my dental veneers?

To get the most benefit, longevity, and value from your new dental veneers, you should care for them just as you would your natural teeth. Brushing twice daily and flossing once a day is important to maintain good oral hygiene. You should attend your dentist and hygienist at Feel Good Dental regularly too, in general every six months is recommended.

Can I remove my dental veneers?

As they are cemented securely to your teeth by a permanent dental bonding agent, dental veneers can only be removed by a careful procedure completed by your dentist. However, you should have no need to remove your veneers, as they function just like natural teeth and have no impact on your ability to eat, speak, and go about your day completely as normal.

Am I a suitable candidate for dental veneers?

Dental veneers are suitable for anyone who wants to transform and improve their appearance without a lengthy treatment time. Porcelain veneers are particularly useful for patients with teeth which are chipped, discoloured, or have small gaps between them.
