After the initial appointments to discuss your teeth straightening needs and provide you with your Invisalign clear aligners, your Feel Good Dental dentist will usually want to see you again every four to six weeks. That way they can ensure the treatment is progressing as planned and provide you with the next set of aligners in the series.
The length of treatment varies from case to case, as everyone’s teeth are different. Invisalign treatment generally takes around a year, but in more complex cases, the treatment can last two or three years. The length of treatment will depend on how misaligned your teeth are, the number of teeth to be corrected, and your age. For Invisalign to be effective, you’ll need to wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, so you’ll be wearing them for most of the day and night. You can take them out for a few hours a day to eat and clean your teeth.
It can take some time to get used to having invisalign aligners in your mouth, but they are very thin and you’ll soon be able to speak normally. They’ll be comfortable to wear too, with patients only reporting minor discomfort for one or two days after they’ve been fitted with new aligners, because they’re doing their job of moving your teeth!
